Having been part of the local community for over 17 years Phoenix Sound has developed as a popular place for music enthusiastic in the South West to fulfil their music needs, however the market has not grown and although the store is well loved by locals, it has the potential to reach a much deeper and diverse audience. The new Directors of Phoenix Sounds (South West) Ltd have seen the potential for growth and are both keen to develop the business into an exciting vibrant destination for music enthusiasts by increasing online sales, promoting local talent whilst establishing its store as a community hub. Independent record stores provide these hubs across the country creating community spirit, a place to relax, meet new people, enjoy the local experiences of our market town whilst becoming a hub of energy and excitement, where people from all over Devon and beyond will come to visit. As one of the largest Independent Record stores in the Southwest and a founder member of Record Store Day, the foundations are strong, we want to use our new business to ensure the store is fit for current and new generations of music enthusiasts whilst attracting music lovers to Newton Abbot from far and wide. This will also bring in extra trade for all traders as we want to be that place to shop in the area
