Since 1958, Record Corner has been a meeting place as much as a music shop, a doorway just off Godalming High Street where generations have stepped in to discover music, talk about it and, of course, buy records. From the listening booths of the 1960s, through rock, classical, CDs and pre-loved vinyl, to today’s new releases, reissues and limited editions, Record Corner has traded continuously from the same building for nearly 70 years. We are proud to be one of the UK’s longest-running independent record shops and part of a group that has bridged the analogue and digital eras without losing its identity. Record Store Day feels like a natural part of that story. It is a celebration of independent record shops, physical music and the pleasure of finding something you weren’t necessarily looking for. Record Corner is an official Record Store Day shop. We stock a wide selection of RSD releases, opening early on the day and operating a fair queue system to give as many people as possible the chance to find the records they’re after. And once the rush is over, we’re still here. New music, vintage vinyl and musical discoveries, all year round.
