I’ve always loved music and it was inevitable that it would eventually become a job in some way for me. I worked briefly at Andy’s Records around the Millennium then at Fopp for about 5 years after that where I helped with some of the vinyl buying. At that time, they were one of the largest vinyl importers in the UK but strangely decided to stop selling vinyl companywide deeming it to be a dead format. I thought it was madness so immediately quit my job there and opened Seismic Records a few months later in 2005 on a shoestring. Within 18 months the shop had been featured in The Guardian. I think they thought I was crazy opening a vinyl store just as downloads were starting to take over :)
